This is a movie about an obsessive compulsive writer, Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson), who has a vary dark outlook in life and has always lived in fear of things that are not meant to be feared. Until he is tasked to take care of his homosexual neighbors' dog and meets a lovely waitress, Carol Connelly (Helen Hunt), who makes Melvin "live" again and forces him to enjoy life in a different light. Will Melvin overcome his fears and give in to Carol?

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

Miss Guenevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand), a middle-aged governess is unfairly dismissed from her job in an agency. With only so much as severance she decides to seize the opportunity of intercepting an employment assignment which involves actress/ singer Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams). Miss Pettigrew finds herself caught up in high society struggles and with Ms. Lafosse's love triangle. On the other hand Miss Pettigrew also finds herself in an awkward position as she is also attracted to Joe, but Joe's boss, senses something off with Miss Pettigrew. Will Miss Pettigrew get caught with what she did? but more importantly, will she find happiness with Joe?
