Ben Thomas is an IRS employee living with a secret. This secret makes Ben want to redeem himself by doing other people a favor through being an IRS agent. He selects 7 good people that are deserving and gives them at another chance in life than just paying off debt. Ben falls in love with one of his seven candidates, Emily Posa, a self-employed greeting card printer who has a fatal heart condition. But Emily's strength and zest for life changes Ben's outlook instead.
