The movie takes place in Miami where ex-California cop Brian O'Conner goes undercover to take down the drug kingpin Carter Verone. He calls up his ex-con friend Roman Pearce to help him out in the investigation with the promise to clear him of all his alleged crimes. Together they set out and race the toughest street racers that Miami has to offer to get noticed and get in Verone's circle.
